CAMBRIDGESHIRE INVENTION TO FEATURE AT LEADING FERTILITY CONGRESS FOR OUR CLIENT DUO FERTILITY
SURGEONS, academics and researchers at this year’s World Association of Reproductive Medicine will today (MONDAY 11th OCTOBER) hear a detailed explanation of how a new affordable fertility device has proven to be ‘as effective’ as IVF.
Dr Oriane Chausiaux, Chief Scientific Officer for Cambridgeshire-based DuoFertility, is to feature as a speaker at the highly regarded biennial congress event in Moscow, which runs until Wednesday. She will tell the accomplished audience how the DuoFertility programme of research resulted in a pregnancy success rate of 19.5% after six months.*
DuoFertility is an innovative home fertility monitor which was invented and launched by a team of Cambridge University graduates, eager to help couples suffering from ‘unexplained infertility’. The condition is such that it accounts for one third of all couples attempting IVF.
The handheld device is in use across the UK and Europe and has seen a number of couples successfully conceive during their use of the product. It accurately predicts fertile days by automatically monitoring body temperature up to 20,000 times each day, and relaying these over the internet to Cambridgeshire based fertility consultants.
Dr Shamus Husheer, the inventor of DuoFertility, said: “We are delighted that Oriane has been given the opportunity to present our significant findings at this event.
“What we now know as a result of our work, is that for certain causes of infertility, DuoFertility is as effective as IVF. Clearly there are some infertility issues where the use of the device is unable to aid pregnancy such as a complete lack of sperm, however for a range of common causes such as moderate male factors, cycle irregularity, secondary or unexplained infertility, our monitoring device is achieving great results.”
The 5th Biennial Congress of the World Association of Reproductive Medicine will see addresses from Nobel Prize winners and explore issues such as oncology and reproduction, ethics in reproductive medicine, male infertility and ovulation induction.
